Alyx Morgan FAQs
Where Are You From?
I was born & raised in Michigan, but I'm "from" everywhere. I love to travel, meet new people, & see new things along the way, fully experiencing life.
Why Do You Have So Many Careers? Isn't One Enough?
One career is fine for some people, but I've always been interested in so many things, that having just one career would bore me to tears. The term "Renaissance Man" is a very fitting one for me (even though I'm female).
Where's Your Favorite Place to Travel?
I love traveling everywhere, especially Europe, but my favorite city of all is Paris. Even before I visited there for the first time, something about Paris just always fascinated me. Who knows? Maybe I was from there in a past life.
What's With All the Hearts?
When I was a kid, I loved hearts & unicorns. As I grew older, the unicorns fell to the wayside, but hearts have stayed with me. My wedding ring is in the shape of a heart, & hearts were a big part of my wedding decorations, including the cake, & even the table placements. They're a major part of who I am.
Voice Actor FAQs
Do You Have a Home Studio?
Yes. I have a professional studio in my home, but I'm happy to travel to another studio if you need me to for recording purposes.
What Equipment Do You Use?
My microphone is a Neumann TLM 102. I use a Solid State Logic 2 interface, & Adobe Audition for my DAW.
How Long Have You Been Doing Voice Over Work?
I started acting way back in high school, but switched to Voice Over work back in 2009, when I lived on Alameda island, on the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay area.
What Are Your Payment Terms?
My payment terms are Net 30 days. I accept PayPal, Zelle, & Venmo. We can discuss that at more length once we start working together.
Do You Allow Your Voice to Be Used for AI Purposes?
No, I don't allow my voice to be used for AI purposes. Like with many other creative fields, my voice is my art, & I should be paid appropriately for my art. I explain this in more depth in any contract we sign.
Photography FAQs
What Equipment Do You Use?
My camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T7i, & I have a variety of lenses I use with that. I will also often use a tripod. My editing software is Adobe Photoshop.
Do You Do Portrait Photography?
Nope. I seem to have the uncanny ability to capture someone mid-blink, or mid-sneeze, so it's best for all involved if I stick to inanimate objects. :o)
How Did You Get Into Photography?
While working at Disney in Florida, a friend of my mom's came to visit & took a bunch of photos, that unfortunately didn't develop properly. So, he bought me a Kodak Advantix camera & 10 rolls of film. After walking around, taking the photos for him, I was hooked.
Do You Sell Your Photography?
Yes, I do. I have an Etsy store where I sell prints of some of my work. It's in the bare bones stage right now, but I will be improving it soon.
Proofreading/Copyediting FAQs
What Kind of Proofreading Do You Do?
I'm happy to help out with anything you might need done. Whether you need proofreading done on a dissertation for school, another pair of eyes to vet your website, or you need a full-on novel edited, I'm happy to offer my services.
Why Should I Use Your Proofreading Services, When Sites Like Grammarly Could Do It for Me?
I'm not here to tell you what you "should" or "should not" use. However, AI sites like Grammarly or ChatGPT are lacking a few essential pieces that a human proofreader/copyeditor has; namely, the ability to maintain the writer's voice, & the empathy & understanding to know when a word or phrase might not be ideal for a certain audience to see.
How Long Does It Take You to Work on a Project?
That varies widely, depending on the project. A college essay might only take me a couple hours to work on & return to you, while a big novel might take a couple weeks. It also depends upon what other projects I have in my queue. I'm pretty efficient in my work, so I might even be able to get it done sooner than originally thought. Contact me, & let's discuss your project at more length.
How Does the Process Work?
After you've reached out to me, initially, we'll meet via Zoom to discuss your project at length, so I can get an idea of what you're working on, as well as a greater idea of your unique voice & how best to showcase who you are in the writing. Then, we'll discuss your timeline & my availability. If all is in agreement, you'll sign a contract & pay me 50% up front to secure your place in my queue, & I'll get to work. Once I'm done, I'll send you a copy of it to get your thoughts, & if you're happy with what I've done, you'll send me the remaining payment, & I'll release the product to you.
Love and Empathy FAQs
Why Did You Decide to Make These Products?
The products sold on the Love and Empathy site are all focused on accepting people in many different categories for who they are. While we're all special & unique in our own way, at the core, we're essentially the same. We want to feel liked, loved, appreciated, & have the ability to live our lives as we think is best for us. I wanted to counter any messages of hate or exclusion with stronger messages of empathy & inclusion.
Do You Come Up with the Product Ideas on Your Own?
The ideas come from all over: books, the internet, phrases I overhear someone say. For the designs, some of those come from vectors I've bought online, but I tweak each of them in my own unique ways to best fit the message I'm trying to convey.
Do You Keep a Lot of Items in Stock?
No. I partner with a print-on-demand (POD) company, who only prints the items when they get ordered. So, every product you buy is fresh . . . it doesn't even have any dust on it yet.
Why Do You Offer So Many Charities for the Percentage to Go to?
There are so many wonderful groups out in the world now, doing the much-needed work of fighting for equality for under-represented communities. Plus, while one group might appeal to you, someone else might prefer their money to go to an different group. This is a way for people to feel like they're helping out a cause they feel strongly about.

If you know of a good cause that's not listed, please drop me a line & let me know about them. I might just decide to include them as well.
